Construction of Houses for Ecuador Earthquake Victims is Complete
Following the devastating earthquake that struck Ecuador in April, Transmar Group donated funds to Hogar del Cristo, a nonprofit organization, to build an emergency encampment for twelve families affected by this disaster.

On Friday, August 19, Transmar Ecuador had the privilege of hosting United States Ambassador to Ecuador Todd Chapman at our cocoa processing facility in Guayaquil. Ambassador Chapman was accompanied by several of his embassy staff members including Consul General Patricia L. Fietz.

Transmar Group Supports the Ecuador Earthquake Relief Effort
Transmar Group today announced its contribution to the relief efforts following the earthquakes in Ecuador. Transmar Group has a significant presence in Ecuador through its subsidiary, Transmar Ecuador, and has pledged to help the families and communities that were most affected by the earthquake in their recovery process.

Transmar & ITOCHU Announce Formation of Global Cocoa Joint Venture
Morristown, New Jersey and Tokyo, Japan - Transmar Group ("Transmar"), a leading global provider of cocoa supply chain services and products based in Morristown, New Jersey, and ITOCHU Corporation ("ITOCHU"), one of Japan's largest global trading companies, headquartered in Tokyo, have agreed to form a joint venture dedicated to the sourcing, processing and distribution of cocoa beans and cocoa products.

On November 30, 2015, Transmar welcomed Meiji at the graduation of 477 farmers participating in ProducerPlus program. Transmar sources cocoa for Meiji directly from these farmers, who all live in the Vinces area of Ecuador.

In 2012, cocoa industry stakeholders began to work on a definition of a standard sustainable cocoa. In the fall of 2012 all participant groups adopted the standard ISO CEN/TC415 Standard for traceable and sustainable cocoa.

Cocoa Industry response in fight against Ebola
In October 2014 the cocoa industry joined forces and donated through World Cocoa Foundation to the fight against Ebola. The donation was allocated to Red Cross and Caritas. Transmar Group made the first donation of 100,000 $.

SQF Certification of US factories
Transmar Group is happy to announce that its two US based cocoa butter and deodorizing factories, Cocoa Services LLC & Cocoa Services West, have been Safe Quality Foods (SQF) level 2 certified, which is recognized under the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).

Transmar Group pledges donation to Caritas
With the Ebola outbreak in Africa continuing, Transmar Group has engaged itself in the fight against Ebola. As one of the initiators of a broad cocoa industry response to Ebola, Transmar Group has pledged to make the first contribution to the initiative of $ 100,000 through Caritas Denmark allocated to the Caritas' International Ebola response.

Transmar Group Sponsors Solar Light Community Project in Tanzania
In districts from which Transmar sources certified cocoa in Tanzania, community premium funds have been allocated for a community program to deliver solar lights to schools. Working with ARTI (http://arti-africa.org/), a social enterprise based out of Dar es Salaam, the project was implemented June 17-19, 2013 in the Kyela region of Tanzania.

The Transmar Group, through premiums paid for traceable cocoa beans, has invested in two projects in cocoa growing areas of Ghana. Partnering with Touton, S.A., the Transmar Group has chosen to fund projects with Empower Playgrounds, Inc. and a local engineering company working with well installation.
